“Unscrupulous and dangerous”: Harsh criticism of Olaf Scholz from Hamburg
Have Hamburg politicians influenced decisions by the tax office? The cum-ex scandal surrounding the Warburg Bank was also the topic of the TV triumph of the chancellor candidates on Sunday. Armin Laschet (CDU) tried to corner Olaf Scholz (SPD). But he was not deterred.

Cum-ex scandal: Scholz stays calm
Scholz is certain that the co-owner of Warburg Bank, Christian Olearius, did not receive any special treatment from him. Regarding the content of the individual conversations, however, he repeatedly referred to gaps in memory. In the TV trio, Scholz was also hardly involved in Laschet’s questions about the cum-ex scandal.

The left-wing parliamentary group in Hamburg drew an interim balance sheet to the investigative committee on Monday. Why the tax office initially did not want to reclaim the taxes has not yet been conclusively clarified.

“Some consider Olaf Scholz to be clever and statesmanlike because of his strategic gaps in memory. From our point of view, this behavior is unscrupulous and dangerous, ”said Left Chairman Norbert Hackbusch. These reproaches shortly before the election are not new.
SPD: Left should recognize witness interviews
Milan Pein, budgetary spokesman for the SPD parliamentary group and chairman of the Cum-Ex investigative committee, said: “It is time that the left also recognized the results of the witnesses’ interviews in the PUA.”

Six guys from different departments, offices and authorities have now independently declared that there was no political influence on tax decisions. “As before, the following applies: The city of Hamburg has not suffered any financial damage because the Warburg Bank has repaid all the money,” said Pein.
